一番苦労した相談(The English text is below.)

私のところには色んな相談が飛び込んできます。今回はその中でも私が一番苦労した相談についてお話ししますね。

ある日、美幸(仮名)さんからこんな相談を受けました。

「アッキームさん！私の友達を助けて下さい！ある男に嵌められて警察に捕まりそうなんです！」

彼女はかなり慌てた様子でした。内容はイスラム教では重婚できるというのを良いことに、雇った事務員の女性、Aさん(イスラム教徒)をイスラム教徒経営者が「君を第二夫人にするよ」と言って、手籠めにしたのです。ニカーという結婚の儀式を二人で行い、Aさんとその男はまるで夫婦のように過ごしていました。

ところが違うイスラム教徒の若くてかわいらしい新しい事務員が入ると、事務所に寝泊まりしていたAさんに男は「君はここに住んでくれ」と言ってマンスリーマンションに追いやったのです。男は「家賃は僕が毎月払ってあげるから心配しないで」と言って。

ところが家賃を払ってもらうどころか、夫婦だからと思ってAさんが貸していた200万円もその男は全く払う気配もないかったようで、Aさんは怒って彼の事務所に行き、「家賃はどうなったの？どうして払ってくれないの？貸したお金も返してよ！」と言いに行ったのです。彼女はその男の会社を突然追い出されたため、仕事も失い、貯金も男に貸してる状態だったので、食うや食わずの生活にまでなっていました。

そんな事情があり、なんとかしてその男から少なくとも貸したお金だけでも返して貰おうと必死になり、男の事務所や自宅にそれを訴えに行っていました。しかし、その男からは暴力を奮われたり、暴言を吐かれた挙句、動画を撮られ、警察を呼ばれる・・・ということを繰り返していました。Aさんは英語も日本語も喋れないので、その男とは母国語で話していたんだそうですが、男は日本に住んで長いので日本語がペラペラだったんです。対するAさんは母国語しか喋れないため、警察にもうまく説明できなかったんですよね。それで男の都合のいいように警察に説明されていたんです。

そしていよいよ警察が動き出したのです。彼女を逮捕するために。

その時に美幸さんから話を聞いて、私はAさんを助けるために動き出しました。私もAさんの母国語は分からないので、彼女とは翻訳機を使い、彼女の母国語で話しました。内容が詳しく分かったところで管轄の警察署に電話をし、イスラム教の教義を絡めながら事情を説明したところ、刑事さんにこう言われました。

「なるほど・・・。話の内容は分かりました。僕らはイスラム教の教義に関する知識がないので、アッキームさんから色々聞けて良かったです。実はもう本当に今日か明日にでもAさんを逮捕しに行くところだったんですが、アッキームさんの話を聞いて、その男への疑いが益々濃くなりました。その男は動画を残してあって、それを警察に証拠として提出しているのです。でも何か変だなとは思ってたんですよ。きっとあの動画は男にとって都合の悪いところは切り取ってるのでしょう。とにかく情報をありがとうございました。Aさんを逮捕するのを少し保留にして、もう少し詳しく捜査してみます」

それを聞いて私は安心しました。

そしてAさんは何の罪にも問われることなく、数か月後には普通に生活できるようになっていました。お金は結局男から返って来なかったようです。家賃も男からは払ってもらってない状態でしたが美幸さんから「Ａさんは今は普通に生活ができている」と聞いてほっとしました。

Ａさんが今でも幸せに暮らしていることを願いつつ、今日も私は色んな方の問題解決に努めています。

The client who was the hardest to help

Various consultations come my way, but today, I'd like to talk about the one that was the most challenging for me.

One day, I received a consultation from a woman named Miyuki (a pseudonym).

"Ak-kiem! Please help my friend! She’s about to be arrested because of a man who tricked her!"

Miyuki was in a state of panic. The situation involved an Islamic man who took advantage of the fact that polygamy is allowed in Islam. He told a female employee, Ms. A (a Muslim), "I'll make you my second wife," and coerced her into a relationship. They performed a Nikah ceremony, a marriage ritual in Islam, and started living as if they were husband and wife.

However, when a new, young, and pretty Muslim secretary joined the office, the man told Ms. A, who had been living in the office, "You need to move out and live here," and forced her into a monthly rental apartment. He assured her, "Don't worry, I'll pay the rent every month."

But instead of paying the rent, the man showed no intention of repaying even the 2 million yen Ms. A had lent him, thinking they were married. Frustrated, Ms. A went to his office and demanded, "What happened to the rent? Why haven't you paid it? Return the money I lent you!" She was left jobless and destitute after being abruptly fired from the man's company, having lent him all her savings.

Desperate to at least get back the money she had lent, she repeatedly visited the man's office and home to appeal to him. However, she was met with violence, verbal abuse, and even filmed without her consent, after which the police were called on her repeatedly. Ms. A didn't speak English or Japanese, so she communicated with the man in their native language, but he had lived in Japan for a long time and was fluent in Japanese. Because A could only speak their native language, they had a hard time communicating with the police. The man took advantage of this and was able to manipulate the police's understanding of what happened.

Eventually, the police started to take action, intending to arrest her.

That’s when Miyuki told me the story, and I decided to step in to help Ms. A. Although I didn’t understand her native language either, I used a translation device to communicate with her. Once I understood the details, I called the local police station and explained the situation, incorporating some Islamic teachings. The detective responded:

"I see… I understand the situation now. We don’t have knowledge of Islamic teachings, so it’s good to hear this from you. We were actually planning to arrest Ms. A today or tomorrow, but after hearing your story, our suspicions about the man have deepened. The man submitted a video to the police as evidence, but there was something suspicious about it. It’s likely that the parts unfavorable to him were cut out. Thank you for the information. We’ll hold off on arresting Ms. A and investigate further."

Hearing that, I felt relieved.

A few months later, Ms. A was living her life normally without being charged with any crime. Although she never got her money back from the man and he didn’t pay the rent as promised, I was relieved to hear from Miyuki that “Ms. A is now living a normal life.”

As I continue to work on solving various problems for others, I hope that Ms. A is still living happily.
